Countdown Begins for the 5th Kaş International Film Festival
The Kaş International Film Festival is preparing to welcome cinema lovers for its fifth edition in Antalya's beautiful district of Kaş. The festival will take place between 10 and 14 June in Kaş and continue with special screenings in Istanbul's Kadıköy Cinema on 20 and 21 June.
This year's festival is organized under the theme "Kaş is a Dream". It has also received the EFFE Label 2026-2027, a quality mark given by the European Festivals Association (EFA) for artistic excellence and social impact, making it a prominent boutique film festival Europe recognizes.
A total of 27 films will compete in four different categories. As an influential independent film festival Turkey Kaş hosts, the program includes national and international short film competitions, a category for young filmmakers, and a special underwater short film competition inspired by Kaş's famous underwater world.
In addition to film screenings, the program will feature workshops, panels, talks, and various cultural events in Kaş. Most activities will be free and open to the public. Experiencing cinema by the sea Turkey Kaş style, screenings will be held at the historic Antiphellos Ancient Theatre, which is nearly 2,000 years old, and at the Kaş Culture House. Visitors will also be able to explore the Western Antalya Kaş-Kalkan Underwater Diving Sites Exhibition. The exhibition presents photographs of reefs, caves, and marine life from some of the region's most important diving locations, highlights of arts and culture in Antalya.
Supported by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Türkiye, the Türkiye Tourism Promotion and Development Agency (TGA), Kaş Municipality, and Fraport TAV Antalya Airport, this important film festival in Turkey Kaş aims to bring together culture, art, and nature while promoting Kaş as an international cultural destination.
