Antalya Homes ® was featured in local financial media outlet Uzmanpara, where the company’s Chairman, Bayram Tekçe, shared insights on the impact of İstanbul Airport on Türkiye’s economy and real estate market.

In his statement, Tekçe emphasized that İstanbul Airport is a major strength for Türkiye, particularly in terms of economic growth and real estate development. Officially opened on 20 October 2018, İstanbul Airport has quickly become one of the world’s most important global aviation hubs.

The opening of Istanbul Airport is meeting the increasing demand from international buyers in the real estate market, making the city an even more attractive destination for property investment and boosting both local and foreign investor confidence.

Chairman’s Insights on İstanbul Airport’s Impact on Real Estate

Highlighting its strategic importance, BayramTekçe noted that the airport has created employment for approximately 225,000 people and contributes significantly to the country’s gross national income, while also supporting increased demand in the real estate sector.

He said, "According to a study conducted by the world-renowned research firm PwC in the UK, every 10% increase in a country's aviation sector seat capacity contributes 1% to short-term economic growth. In today's world, where recent developments have highlighted the importance of economic growth, PwC's study alone underscores the significance of Istanbul Airport."

Tekçe also underlined the growing interest of foreign buyers in Türkiye. Last year, 40,004 housing units were sold to foreigners across the country. In the first two months of 2019, foreign home sales increased by 87% compared to the same period of the previous year, reaching 6,489 units. İstanbul ranked first among cities preferred by foreign buyers, with 14,270 homes sold to foreigners last year. Tekçe stated that this figure is expected to double within the next three years, reaching approximately 30,000 units annually.
